Somewhere between Seelye Lake and Flathead Lake, Montana. I ran into an old friend the other night at The Burlington. We flew through the small talk and got straight to best practices for tracking someone who doesn't want to be found. Since he's from Montana and his dad is a bailbondsman there, I thought he might have some advice. He told a couple stories about tagging along with his Dad and gave me some ideas. Thanks Buddy. I'm on to something.
how is Sean Patrick?
ReplyDeletehe knows about public records. he thinks i'm too close to my project to remain objective and he still smokes. that's what i know.
ReplyDeleteThere's a book about tracking called _The Tracker_ by Tom Brown, Jr. It's mostly about tracking animals, but also about tracking people. The thesis of the narrative is: everything leaves a trail. Maybe the covered trail, like a scar, is itself a trail.
ReplyDeletethanks for blowing my mind right before bed.
ReplyDeleteat one point, he is tracking a creature at night. he's not sure what kind it is. but he realizes eventually, he's been tracking himself.
