ReRooted

Rerooted from Rotary International on Vimeo.

Justin and I just finished the above project that our team covered in Central America this spring. I learned a lot from him as an editor. Mostly when to be directive and when to just let go. For the last three years, I've either photographed Justin on stage, watched his comedy shows or adjusted his collar to cover his tie at our 9-5. Quite the journey getting to know you. He told me today that sometimes he stands in awe of all the talented people he has the privilege to hang around and I relate to his gratitude. Thanks for everything Justin. The fact that I get to see your in a suit and tie everyday, makes me feel like it’s ok. Rock n' Roll.

  1. Perpetually impressed by the things that you do. I know firsthand on how much you put into this project. Crazy how half days can change our course from time to time. You have told me that for such a short time, Ak' Tenamit, the students, the philosophy, the Dude, how they had a lasting impact. I was only on a two-hour visit on my first trip, and we see how that worked out.

After I watched your multi-media piece on India, I knew how talented you were. Watching the culmination of this project, I'm glad that your talent will be put to good and Ak' Tenamit can continue to grow. Thank you for what you do. This means so much to me.

Thanks for allowing me to work on this with you, I too also learned a lot from this whole process. Like making sure to wear deodorant next time we're locked up in my office so when I get angry and yell I will at least smell good. Looking forward to the next adventure!

  3. Oooo, I got sucked into this post. There was the beautiful video piece of course (fantastic stills of the girls especially) and then I read about this Justin fellow and had to click through to his comedy, that is inventive and witty and then, and then, and then. . . but that's just how you do, MD. Brill.
